Booking a game
Is it $30 total or per-person?
All of our games are $30 per person. Children 5 and under play free (when booking, don't include them as a participant).
Do we need to make an appointment?
We prefer that you do. While we accept walk-ins, we can't always guarantee available rooms/spaces. It is better to book in advance to ensure that you can play.
Can we cancel or swap games/times?
Please be sure to book the experience and time you definitely want. We cannot guarantee that a particular game or time will be available for swapping.
If you need to cancel do so upwards of 48 hours before your scheduled time, or we will not refund you. Please be considerate of others who may want to play the game, and of our time as Game Masters. (If there is an emergency requiring you to reschedule, please call us asap and we will do our best to help get your group resituated).
How many can play?
We accept groups of 2-10. We do ask that you carpool whenever possible, due to limited parking space. If our lot is full, we ask that you check the nearby beach access lots.
How old do you have to be?
We have no age limit. Our rooms are designed to be family-friendly. However, we ask that children under the age of 15 are accompanied by an adult (18+). Ages 5 and under play free.
Arriving
What time should I arrive?
We ask that you arrive 10 minutes before your time is set to start. The Game Masters have instructions to go over before you can start. Arriving early ensures there is enough time for the introduction, questions, and bathroom needs before your time is set to start. If you have not arrived by 5 minutes past your start time, the countdown timer will begin regardless, and being 30 minutes late will forfeit your room entirely.
If you expect to arrive late, please give us a call beforehand, and we will do our best to accommodate, however, we cannot guarantee anything, as there will likely be groups playing after you, and it is unfair to impact their gameplay. Again, after 5 minutes your time starts, after 30 the booking is considered cancelled, with no refund.
Where can I park?
Parking in our lot is very limited, so it is first come first serve. We ask that groups carpool, when possible. If our lot is full, check the nearby lots (such as the Beach Access Lots) for extra space. Please note: these other lots are paid parking from March-November, and we will not reimburse you for parking costs.
Can I drink beforehand?
We ask you to use your best judgement regarding your level of intoxication. If our game master(s) feel you are too intoxicated to safely play the game, they may ask you to leave. If you are asked to leave for this, you will not be offered a refund.
If we arrive early, can we start early?
Sometimes. If the room is available, the Game Master may be able to begin your game earlier than scheduled. The best practice here, is to send in one member of your group to ask the Game Master inside. The Game Master will let you know how long the wait might be, if there is one at all. Or you're welcome to call ahead and ask, and the GM will advise you. (This applies to arrival times earlier than the 10-minute arrival we ask for).
Playing the game
Will we actually be locked inside?
Not at all! The entry door will always remain unlocked for your safety. If you need to leave the room at any point simply let the Game Master know and you can walk right out.
Will we be playing with strangers?
No. While some escape rooms have open teams, we do not. Each team is playing with only the people in their group. (Which does mean we require a minimum of two players).
Are there cameras inside the room?
Yes! We have cameras inside the room so the Game Masters can give the best help possible when giving clues.
Can we use our phones in the room?
We do not confiscate phones, however they are unlikely to help you complete the puzzles and escape the room. We recommend you put your phones on Do Not Disturb (or silent) and focus on the game without them. Please do not take photos or videos inside the room.
How long will it take?
For the indoor experience, you have 1 hour to complete the game.
For the outdoor scavenger hunt, groups typically finish within 3 hours, though there is no time limit.
Can we pick the locks when playing?
Picking the locks almost always results in poor and confusing gameplay. We encourage testing codes on various locks, but intentionally picking a lock, without the game leading you there, could open puzzles far too early, and disrupt the flow of the game. Ultimately, you are welcome to play however you please, but we ask you to keep this in mind incase it does impact your game poorly.
